Gold Duke of Edinburgh AwardTuesday 03-07-2007
Today Ian Brownlee, an officer with the company section was invited to Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh, where he was presented with his his Gold Duke Of Edinburgh Award. Prince Philip talked to the regional groups, and each group was presented their certificates by a celebrity. Ian was presented his by Sgt James Shannon, who is responsible for firing the 1.00pm cannon at Edinburgh Castle.

Church Picnic to StonehavenSaturday 30-06-2007
Almost 40 people attended the the Chuch Picnic to Stonehaven, and were blessed with a glorious day, (should have taken the suncream), there was free time to visit both the indoor or outdoor swimming pools, or the shops, or just sit and chat. Then everyone came together for lunch, followed by games, races and singing. A fun day was had by all who attended.

Joint ServiceSunday 24-06-2007
We held a joint service today at Maud & Savoch Church.New Deer Worship Group played led the Worship. The Maud Sunday Club presented a sketch about Jonah which was very well done. Both churches presented the Sunday Club Children with their prizes for attendance. Alasdair Brodie Captain of 1st New Deer Boys Brigade handed over two Queens Badges to Ewan Donald and Ross Duncan, the Queens badge is the highest award the boys can achieve in the BBs.This brings the number awarded this year to 5, Well Done boys.

Kirk ShoppieWednesday 06-06-2007
The Kirk Shoppie which is organised by members of the Guild, was held recently, and was a very successful week. Lots of folk popped in looking for a bargain and a chat. There was also coffees and teas on sale and one late night shopping with suppers on sale. A good week of fellowship and fundraising, we raised £1350 for the Church.

Rock Solid QuizSaturday 19-05-2007
Last night there were 11 tables taken for our 1st quiznight.People of all ages attended and there was a lot of fun and competition - did you know that Postman Pats Teddy was called Billy? not many of our competitors did! The end results were very close, with Shoestring winning with 75 1/2 points just 1 point more than Hillcrest who had 74 1/2. Supporting role went to the Rock Solid team of Miraculous Melon Mongeese they won the wooden spoon with 49 points - pretty good for a young team! BB Parents NightSaturday 12-05-2007
Last night the BBs held their Annual Parents night in the Church Centre, a number of parents and friends saw a representation of what the boys get up to each week, with all three sections doing drill,and a team game event/challenge. The Company Section had made dvds of their typical evening and also a Fire prevention presentation. There were also photos of the juniors baking, and other pictures of the boys who took part in the 50th Anniversary D of E walk last year. Bike RunTuesday 08-05-2007
Last Saturday, Ian Brownlee, a member at St Kane's,took part in Evelyn Cooks 9th Bike Run for Charity. There were over 70 cyclists, and Ian completed the run of 25 miles which took him from Methlick along the river bank towards Fyvie, over Woodhead, Millbrex, Cairnbanno, Knaven and then over Skilmafilly Hill, to Sillerdene, Methlick, in2hours 10 mins. Easter Sunday ServiceFriday 20-04-2007
There was busy Church on Easter Sunday morning. The Guides, Brownies and rainbows were present, as well as all three sections of the Boys Brigade.
The Anchor Boys gave the Easter story in words and pictures and they sang for us. Our Church Officer Gerald Hodkinson, has recently stepped down. He has faithfully and energetically gone about his duties for the last 18 years. Gerald has insisted that he wants no fuss on his retirement, but on behalf of all the congregation we want to say a really big THANK YOU to Gerald for his hard work over many years.
