Residential at Arbroath Thursday 03-08-2006
A total of 24 Rock Solid and RS2 young people and leaders returned to the the Windmill Christian Centre at Arbroath for our residential. We had a great week, Gordon McConnel an enquirer for the ministry came along to do the bible teaching, he discussed the Trinity, we all learned from his teaching.
As usual we had busy days, starting with breakfast then everyone,making their own sandwiches for lunch, after which we had small group prayer time (same groups as last year, funky blue fish, three eyed yellow pigs and raging red bulls!) Over 30 people came along to our Church picnic yesterday. This year we went to Stonehaven and were blessed with good weather. There were lots of team races, singing, free time and for those that wanted - a swim in the very warm outdoor pool. We were amazed at the youngsters swimming abilities, thanks to Callum for diving to retrieve treasure from the deepest bit of the deep end!! A good time was had by all. Hopefully pictures should follow.

More Competitions!!Saturday 10-06-2006
Last night both Seniors and juniors from the Company section took part in the Buchan Battalion badminton competition at South Park School, Fraserburgh. There were several companies represented, in the senior section there were some long matches, Martyn Hazzard from 1st New Deer got through to the semi=finals, and in the junior competition Andrew McNab was 3rd and took home the bronze medal, and Cameron Woodhouse was pipped at the post and came home with the silver medal as runner up. Well done to all the boys who took part!

Joint ServiceMonday 05-06-2006
Yesterday St Kanes joined with Maud & Savoch Church for morning service, entitled 'Window on the World' The worship group were involved with some of the music and Jane played the organ for us. The speakers were Glen & Carol Slabber who showed us slides and talked about their work with Aids patients in South Africa. It was good to hear about the Christian organisation they worked with and quite emotional hearing about some of the victims of the Aids virus. Kirk ShoppieMonday 05-06-2006
This years Kirk Shoppie took place last week, as usual it was well supported, and thanks to the hard work of all the ladies involved, over a £1000 was raised. Thanks to everyone who donated goods or who came along to support the shoppie. Th late night Friday shopping proved quite successful, and so were the home made pizzas which were on sale for tea!

Buchan Batallion Football CompetitionMonday 05-06-2006
Two teams represented the Company Section in the Buchan Batallion Football Competition,last Friday night at South Park School, Fraserburgh. The juniors played really well and manged to win Bronze medals after a play off. The Seniors excelled themselves and came away with the Trophy and Medals for winning their section. The competition was well organised and everyone enjoyed it - Well Done boys!!

QuizMonday 05-06-2006
Congratultions to Steven Brown, who organised a quiz in aid of Cystic Fibrosis as part of his Duke of Edinburgh badge work. There were 16 teams competing, and everyone enjoyed the evening. Steven raised in excess of £300 for this worthy cause.

Rock Solid Soup & SweetMonday 08-05-2006
Saturday saw our fundraising Soup, sweet & stalls lunch. The young folk helped by serving on the stalls and by waitering! We were overwhelmed with the amount raised - £506 towards our residential in July. Thanks to everyone who supported us either by donating goods,or money,or by coming along for their lunch. Thanks also to those parents and helpers who worked so hard all morning. Sorry we forgot to record the event on camera. (too busy serving soup!)

Parents Night 2006 - pictures addedSaturday 06-05-2006
Last night saw our annual parents' night, held in the Church Centre. All four sections were represented by over 30 boys, with some 50 parents, relatives, helpers and friends joining us for an insight into what the BB is all about and to cheer on the award ceremonies. Our guest inspecting officer was Mr A Burslem, captain of 1st Udny Green BB.
Highlights of the night were a slick display of drill by each section, games which some of the audience were crazy enough to join in and the awarding of badges and trophies in honour of the hard work the boys ... (Show full article)
 
BB Garage VisitSaturday 25-03-2006
The BB Seniors are mostly getting to the magical age of 17, and have being doing some work practising for their driving theory test and learning about car maintenance. As part of this, Leslie Simpson at Mile End Motors kindly offered to do a practial introduction to looking after your car last week, here's some snaps of the night.
